We’re excited to announce the release of Sensory Percussion 2.6. This release brings full support for our new cymbal and hi-hat sensors as well as some big usability improvements like Instruments, and Hot Swapping. This is one of our biggest releases and we can’t wait to hear what you think of it. Read on for the full details.
To upgrade, open the software and look for the pop-up window. Otherwise, you can grab the latest version on the downloads page.
Cymbals & Hi-hats
Finally! Sensory Percussion has cymbals and hi-hats. If you haven’t checked them out, make sure you do! This update adds the new cymbal and hi-hat hardware input types as well as their matching pad modules. We’re especially proud of the fact that the cymbal and hi-hat work out of the box without training. For now, we are officially supporting the EVANS db One low volume cymbal set, with more expanded support coming later.
For the hi-hat, we have something especially cool: a new ‘pedal’ modulator type. This means you can use the pedal state to control anything in the app. The potential for this is huge.
A new look for the Play View
2.6 includes a refreshed Play View with a new way to visualize your set. The new render of the drum set make it easy to monitor and edit which physical sensors are assigned to which virtual drums/cymbals for any given set. You can now tell at a glance which inputs have sounds assigned to them just by looking at this drum set visualization.
Instruments & Hot Swap
Introducing instruments, a new way to encapsulate complex groups of sounds into a neat package. These instrument groups combine with another new feature we call hot swap to achieve super-fast interchangeability between sounds in our library. Easily scroll through different snares, kicks, rack toms, floor toms, ride cymbals, crash cymbals, and hi-hats from throughout the Sunhouse library without ever opening the library panel! Hot swap makes building your ideal kit super quick and easy.

The rest
As usual, this update has a ton of other improvements, bug fixes, and changes. Check out the full release notes for all the details.
