Black Out Tuesday
news

The daily struggles of the Black Community in the U.S. have once again starkly and terrifyingly become visible to the world. Systemic racism and police brutality are a pervasive and insidious barricade preventing African Americans from achieving equality in this country. Our country needs to face this and reckon with this legacy.

On Tuesday, June 2, Sunhouse will participate in Black Out Tuesday along with other companies in the music industry. While we will be here for our users if they need help, our store will be closed for the day in solidarity. We will take the day to listen, grieve, and amplify the voices of our community.

As Chicanxs from East LA and first-time entrepreneurs of color, social justice has been a core tenet of what we strive to work for as a company. One of our goals as a company is to enable economic independence for musicians. But economic independence means nothing if you can't live without the fear of losing your life at any turn.

Join us in supporting the organizers and protesters working to change the world for the better. We are donating to the organizations below and encourage everyone to do the same.
